Sinds de moeder van Max verhuisd is, ervaart ze mentale en fysieke gezondheidsproblemen die ze toeschrijft aan elektromagnetische straling. Max en zijn broer geloven niet dat straling de oorzaak is.
Since Max's mother moved, she has been experiencing mental and physical health issues that she attributes to electromagnetic radiation. Max and his brother do not believe that radiation is the cause.
MAMA WEET HET ZEKER
Als je later groot bent beschouwt de werkende mens gedurende een werkdag. De stilte en afstand binnen de film creëren een absurdistisch portret dat je af doet vragen wat het betekent om mens te zijn in een door werk gedreven samenleving.
De film won 5 juli de VPRO-documentaireprijs 2019. Deze prijs werd voor de twaalfde keer uitgereikt aan de beste eindexamen documentaire van de Nederlandse Filmacademie. De jury gaf aan: ‘De beeldtaal wordt consequent doorgevoerd en de muziek en het ritme van de montage brengen een mooie emotionele gelaagdheid. Met minimale middelen krijgt de kijker de ruimte om zelf na te denken over hoe we in het leven staan.’
When you grow up is a short documentary that takes a view of people during a day of work. The silence and distance within the film creates an absurd portrait that makes you wonder what it means to be human in a work-driven society.
The film won the VPRO documentary prize on 5 July 2019. This prize was awarded for the twelfth time to the best graduation documentary of the Dutch Film Academy. The jury stated: 'The visual language is consistently implemented and the music and the rhythm of the editing brings a nice emotional layering. With minimal resources, the viewer is given the space to think for themselves about how we stand in life.'

RUSTZOEKER
Ferdinand Esseboom heeft behoefte aan rust. Daarom besluit hij in een caravan te gaan wonen ergens in het groen. Maar toch lijkt hij niet helemaal aan de controledrang van de officiële instanties te kunnen ontsnappen. Regisseur Max Baggerman maakte een korte documentaire over deze Rustzoeker.
De documentaire werd geselecteerd voor de Makers van Morgen, een platform voor jong, debuterend, documentairetalent.
Ferdinand Esseboom needs rest. That is why he decides to live in a caravan somewhere in the countryside. However, he does not seem to be able to completely escape the control of the authorities. Director Max Baggerman made a short documentary about this Rustzoeker (Peaceseeker).
The documentary was selected for the Makers of Tomorrow, a platform for young, debuting, documentary talent.
